While working as a Digital Media Assistant at the Stratford Festival I had the chance to operate camera for a number of livestreamed events that continued throughout the 2014 season. The first event that I filmed live was The Shakespeare Slam – a concert at Toronto’s Koerner Hall which celebrated William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday.
The event featured a number of live performances, including Hawkley Workman’s raw rendition of “Wild Abandon.” The performance was recorded and later posted to YouTube for those who couldn’t catch the livestream.
This performance featured a three camera set-up; one camera was locked off, with two of us filming from either side of the stage and a third person switching up in the booth. My camera was located to the right of the stage, and I focused on capturing beautiful close-ups of Hawksley as he performed for a packed house.
